I purchased 2 recliners from Badcock furniture 1520 E. Greenville St.,Ste 1,Anderson,SC 864 261-****.

on 7-8-2012 for $1208.29.The material has started peeling/flaking off & going by the other reviews,I am dead in the water.I have all my paperwork from the purchase & Southern Motion is not on any of it.Only made in USA.I crawled under one recliner with a flashlight & saw the Southern Motion sticker. These deadbeat's are using imported crap from either Mexico or China & we need to shut them down. One previous review did'nt want to name the furniture co. that she purchased the junk from, but DUH,they are selling the crap to innocent customers & have to have heard that Southern Motion is a crook.I have'nt shown my ignorance by contacting either.Badcock got the name real close.Badproduct would be my choice.

Reason of review: I learned not to go back to Badcock.

Southern Motion Furniture Cons: Material.

Location: Belton, South Carolina

FYI. it is made and assembled in the USA..

There may be parts, such as the mechanism, that are not made here but the rest of the chairs/sofas are made in Mississippi. 99% Of the mechanisms are made by a company called Leggett & Platt and made in China (therefore the mechanism will have a made in china sticker on it).

Southern Motion is Medium quality furniture but don't buy the bonded leather. If you purchase furniture at a store such as Babcock furniture or any other low end promotional retail you get what you pay for.

Three bonded leather recliner pieces and surface is flaking off at numerous points. Hudson Furniture notes its beyond warranty and has no recommended fixes.

I was told that they don't make this type of furniture anymore. I'm going to research new coverings but fear there is no fix and no help.

It's not Southern motion, it's the bonded leather, which every furniture company has problems with. Unfortunately, the stores continue to sell it and actually push it.

I walked out of a store because the salesman wouldn't stop with the bonded leather sales pitch, after I said I only wanted top grain leather. He just kept on and on, trying to convince me. I had done my research with other companies too and was NOT going to take any chances. We've had the top grain leather for a year now and it's holding up VERY well, with my wife and 2 kids using it.

The company that sold you the furniture should be to blame for not informing you of the wide spread issues with bonded leather.

I have had similar problems with my furniture. I called and sent pics to the place I bought it from.

They are working on the problem. If it is not fair, I will be pissed also. Everyone will know what happened. I'm feeling my furniture is the same age so they may have gotten some bad products.

The reclining part of the sofa is awesome. They got some good motors for that at least.
