We paid close to $2,000 for our sectional sofa, we were told by the Art Van salesperson that it would last forever and that the vinyl fabric would last and wear better than leather. Unfortunately that couldn't be farther from the truth.

After 3 years the vinyl started flaking off one of the cushions. When I called the store they said I was out of luck because we didn't buy an extended warranty. We just put a throw over it and never sat on that side. Now it's a year later and the whole couch is falling apart!

I tried contacting the manufacturer via their website - no one got back with me. I tried posting a review on their customer service site...nothing. So I looked up the company executives and sent an email to the Director of Customer Service.

She actually did respond and said that she would forward the matter to the person that handles the Art Van account - that was about a week ago, and no response yet. I'm not feeling like I'm going to get any resolution to this issue and I'm pissed!!

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $1800.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

I bought my Southern Motion power headrest, sectional a month ago. Itโ€™s got the new โ€œiReclinerโ€ smartphone feature APP Bluetooth control on it.

$200 extra ... I was so excited to get it At the end of February 2019. 3 weeks in, it doesnโ€™t work 90% of the time!!!!! If you unplug it, or lose power, all the settings are wiped out!!!!

This is ridiculous!!!! The whole point is to save settings so that you can return at another time using your โ€˜favoriteโ€™ position from a prior time, isnโ€™t it? If you get up and return to your seat a few minutes later, itโ€™s impossible to just push the APP button and resume the position ... OR worse, a message appears โ€œcan no longer detect the deviceโ€ Iโ€™ve got to swipe the APP away and reopen it, then mess around for an eternity to maybe get a response from the APP.

Itโ€™s quicker to just use the buttons manually each time. The iRecliner feature is a total joke. DONโ€™T BOTHER. I wasted $200 for this feature that still needs major work by the manufacturer.

As for the sofa, well I have only had it a month so we will see. So far Iโ€™m happy with it.

I am having the same issue they basically say you are *** out of luck if it is over a year. When spending this kind of money on furniture it should last over a year and sure not fall apart after 3 years.

Which mine was in our formal living room not being used for 2 years.

Within the first week of being used (got divorced) the "leather" started peeling off the arms and backs where head sits. Not the seats qnd everywhere are peeling and it looks like i picked this up off the side of the road and has been used for 50 years.
