I purchased 2 Southern Motion recliners. After 13 months, [1 month over the factory warranty] the recliner part on my chair quit after what I would consider light use.

I had bought an extended warranty and filed for repair. The repairman came and said he would order the part. I then received an email stating it would take 12-16 weeks [not guaranteed!!!] for the part. I bought an American-made chair, and the part is used in many of the models.

I have bad leg vein problems, and this is terrible! This is a ridiculous wait for an American-made chair. I can find the part on sites and get it in 7 days or less! For what I paid for 2 custom chairs—sorry I didn't go Lazy Boy.

But I never had electric, so I really got a lesson on buying furniture. I should have looked into the company better.

Impulse Zero Gravity Recliner Poor Upholstery

Southern Motion Furniture - Impulse Zero Gravity Recliner Poor Upholstery

We purchased 2 Impulse Zero Gravity Recliners. One of the recliners was delivered with the leather/cushion buckling towards the bottom part of the chair.

We lived with the issue for a while but it was very uncomfortable. Contacted Southern Motion a couple times on this issue. The first time they pretty much ignored our warranty question. The next time they sent foam to us - which was for the incorrect chair model.

Regardless, foam would not solve the upholstery problem with this chair.

Also, the seating area on the second chair was not comfortable after about 1.5 years. Foam core does not hold up well - probably very cheap foam.

User's recommendation: I would not purchase their product again. Expensive for what you get. Could have purchased 3 lower cost recliners for the price of the Southern Motion which we had issues with.

They told me it wasn’t on warranty. They have lousy customers service. The leather is splitting after 2 years

My recliner is broken in 21/2 years the leather used is *** and othe arms collapsed within a week been in shop more than my house while on warranty now they say its out of warranty. Buy something better.

The seat on the other one was 2" lower than it should be.

And it made a lot of annoying noises when getting up or moving in chair. The company did replace them, since they were quite new.

.Out of the next 2 , one is good. The other one makes noises, also, when getting up from chair and moving in it. Hard to explain, but it's not right.

The seats do not hold their shape. They sag after only a year.

Dont Buy Horrible.. I sent it back It was Custom and the front didnt line up and the back didnt line up.

It had all dirt marks all over the material. They should be a Shame of them selves.

It has been a while since last contacting company. They warranted new left and right armrests and sent them to me to have someone install them.

I got one quote for $700.00, almost what the chair costed. I emailed the company and asked it the same material was used in where the places in the armrests that failed are in the replacements, their reply, yes.

We bought a leather sectional and a leather power recliner. Within about a year or two part of the inner arms starting cracking and continued to crack.

Contacted Southern Motion and to their credit, sent me both new arms. I asked them if the same material was used in the replacement arms and they said yes.To me the part that cracked isnt leather, I believe it is vinyl, not leather like the chair is suppose to be. Also the headrest has had the dye worn off and now there is a dark spot on a light colored chair. Contacted a furniture repair company and to do the repairs, about $700.00.

For this chair not to hold up any better than this for what we paid for it is bad. The sectional sofa arms are made the same way, so far so good, although it is not sat on as much as the recliner.

Would consider selling the sectional, but I dont want to sell something to someone else and they have these same issues, I have a conscious. We are retired and we thought this purchase would last a while.

Power recliner lasted 3-4 years

The wiring to the motor went out after 3-4 years, and no warranty would cover it. The repair cost would exceed half of the original price.

Very disappointed in this company. Stick with La-Z-Boy!

Bought 2 recliners. The one had the arm not on right.

Second one was a total disaster. Made a horrible noise when getting up or rocking.. And the height of seating part was 2" shorter than it should have been. Company did replace both of them.

But the seating part on new ones has gotten soft & not as supportive.

I do not recommend these recliners. Poor quality for the price.

1174. Worth of junk in year and half power stopped working nothing but junk should have went to discount store bought cheap recliner then I know why it stopped working in a short amount of time bought this at westeriche in Delphos ohio will never purchase from them again

My couch is only 2 1/2 years old and the right side panels are cracking on the right cushion. The same thing happened to the center cushion awhile back.

I purchased a warranty (Furniture Care) and it was replaced and now it is cracking again.

I put in a claim for the right side in September. I was told it would take 12-16 weeks to get the part from Southern motion. 6 weeks pasted and I inquired on the part ordered and was told it was discontinued. They did not give me any options.

I emailed back and asked what my options were under the warranty. They responded and said they would replace the couch. I told them hat was not an option since I have a matching love seat. (Both have been discontinued)

I contacted Southern Motion to ask why I could not get a cushion on a fairly new couch.

To date have not received a response.

Now after many emails the warranty company gave me a credit to pick out a new couch and love seat.

It will not be from Southern Motion. Stay away, poor quality for a lot of money.

Poor quality of the chair itself

Not a comfortable chair; leather is stapled in the back. There is no support in the calf area of the leg.

I bought two of the same and the structure and support are different in each chair. Missing stuffing and has wrinkles in the appearance of the leather. This is a terrible product for the amount of the purchase.

The chair tips over as well if you try to get off while reclined. NEVER AGAIN.
