I worked for a local furniture retailer who sold S.M.I basically learned the trade repairing this trash.
The sales floor pushed it because it had a higher profit margin than their other line ( La-Z-Boy). And their commission was higher.
Some of this stuff was brought in to the shop over and over. Cover issues, frame separations and motor replacements were every day.
If the buying public knew how poorly this "furniture" was made they wouldn't touch it.
The metal frames used in the power mechanisms are too weak to handle the weight of the chair and constant motion.Do some research before you buy!
