Purchased a Southern Motion reclining sofa in Feb 2013 and accepted delivery in March of 2013. It's 3 years and 8 months later and the covering is flaking off along the texture lines of the material.

Horrible appearance and not worth of receiving guest into the home. Model is 711, a reclining sofa with covering of Hideout Coffee. While first noticed on headrest of one recline unit, the condition is present over the entire seating surface. Surprisingly, condition appears on the center section, which does not recline and is seldom used.

Not at all satisfied with the quality of the material. I regret not opting for a product covered in Leather.

Product or Service Mentioned: Southern Motion Furniture Sofa.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $1095.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

I didn't like: Material used on the furniture, Splits at seams, Inferior quality for the price.

TTinpa, let me tell you something....both pieces of my furniture is doing the same thing, the problem was poor quality of material. This had nothing to do with our homes, I have another leather outfit that I have had for over 15 years and the material is still in great condition.

Mine looks just like yours, never been so heart sick over furniture!

It's a bummer your chair is splitting, but ...

Looks to me like you have the chair within feet of an air vent and, even worse, a fireplace?!?!?!

Surely, that air & environment is Awful for leather or really Any breathing thing (including - most likely - You).

No doubt it's overwhelmingly dry.

Another victim of bonded leather. The furniture store should have informed you of the potential problems with the material.
