Southern Motion Furniture - Was led to believe Bonded Leather was more durable than leather!
We searched for a long time before we bought a new living room set. We wanted leather for it's sleekness and for it's long life.
We purchased Southern Motion Furniture as we were told it was very well made and would last a very long time. Ha, ha, ha that is a funny one. We went with bonded leather because we were told that it would stand up better in the long run that leather. In what seemed like no time, we were seeing cracks and peeling on the arms, sides, etc.
At first I thought maybe it was my husband pulling himself forward with the arms of the recliner. But after looking at all three pieces of furniture - the sofa, love seat and recliner, I found those cracks and peeling spots in many, many places. Well, life got in the way and time went by. The furniture's bonded leather got worse and is peeling bad in several places.
What in the world can I do about it now. We purchased the set in 2010 and it was not cheap!
Other than covering it up with a blanket or sheet, what can I do to fix the problem? Very disappointed in this and will never, ever buy bonded leather or Southern Motion furniture again!
Reason of review: Bad quality.
Monetary Loss: $2900.
Southern Motion Furniture Pros: Original look and feel of the entire set.
Southern Motion Furniture Cons: Poor quality of the bonded leather.

We had the same problem and we've only had the furniture 3 1/2 years. We will never by from southern motion again!
